Founders
Ajay has been playing chess since 1st grade and has always enjoyed satisfaction of getting better with every game. He has always loved the sheer joy of watching a good game. He is currently the president of his high school's chess club for three years. He saw that his team members had no local USCF chess tournaments to improve their ratings, so he helped to found the Brazos Valley Chess Society and the Astin Rapid Tournament as the first regular USCF chess tournament in the Bryan/College Station Area.
Arjun had always watched his dad and big brother play chess growing up. He is a member of his high school's chess club. He helped to found the Brazos Valley Chess Society and the Astin Rapid Tournament. He also wanted to make sure that his teammates would have a space to establish strong ratings and branch out in competition with other members of the community, while celebrating the shared passion among the players.
